This product seems to be a very decent product; I don’t see too many bad reviews about it. Bulletproof Upgraded Collagen Protein gets their collagen from bovine sources so that means that the type of collagen you’ll most likely be getting is Type 2 collagen which is great for people who have joint problems, osteoporosis, arthritis, etc… As far as reduction of wrinkles on the skin, I don’t see any significant evidence that this product actually helps with that (which is to be expected since it’s a Type II collagen product) nor does the company claim that it will aid in the reduction of wrinkles/sagging skin. If you’re taking collagen for this very reason of reducing wrinkles and or tightening skin then you need to use a collagen product which contains Type I and Type III collagen, you’ll find this in collagen supplements such as Skinade.
Now as far as where does Bulletproof Upgraded Collagen gets their collagen from, it’s not clear. I know most collagen manufactures that use bovine source of collagen usually gets them from brazil due to how cheap it is. I don’t know if that true for Bulletproof Upgraded Collagen because nowhere on the label does it say it, so the only real way to find out is to contact the company.
If you’re looking for a good Type 2 collagen supplement, I would say you should give this product a shot (that’s assuming that they don’t get their collagen from brazil), as you know brazil has a virus floating around so I am very skeptical of getting any food products from over there. So please make sure to contact Bulletproof and ask them were they are currently getting their collagen from. The reason why we did not provide this information is due the fact that companies are always testing out new suppliers and this information is subject to change at any time.
